How it works
- You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it keep valuables from sight?
Based on your responses to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows over the allowed limit.
We will test with a tint meter to ensure you are allowable when installing a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not all window tints was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
