How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We can then receive payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables from view?

Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, something else to think about is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows over the legal limit.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
