What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% limit. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, another factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
