Tinting your car windows on your own, can be a real pain, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied locally can be a real burden as well, needing to take some time off work, or having no car for many hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.
At Vision Tints we are 100% mobile, and can cover the whole of Devon and parts of Cornwall including Teignmouth and surrounding areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.
We are able to offer tinted sun strips, car light tints and chome deleting.
Our process
- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables from view?
Based on your responses to those questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows that are already at (or close to) the 70-75% maximum. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows beyond the allowed limit.
We always use a tint meter to confirm everything is allowable when installing any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
Do you provide mobile window tinting near me?

We can come to your home or your place of work, which means that you don’t need to be without your car and do not have to wait around for several hours for the job to be completed.
