How it works
- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We can then accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?

Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows that are almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% limit. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, something else to think about is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
