How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to receive payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables from view?
From your responses to these questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass that is almost at (or close to) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows beyond the allowed limit.
We always test with a tint meter to ensure your car’s windows are allowable when installing any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
The greatest tint available, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
