What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars produced today have tinted glass that is almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint front windows beyond the legal limit.
We will use a tint meter to ensure your car’s windows are correct when fitting a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tints was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
