What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We can then receive payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables from sight?
Based on your responses to these questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars made today have tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio signals and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
