How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows over the legal limit.
We test with a tint meter to make sure you are correct when installing tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio signal and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
