How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We can then receive payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?
From your responses to those questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today have tinted glass that is almost at (or close to) the 70-75% limit. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something else to consider is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows over the legal limit.
We always use a tint meter to make sure you are legal when fitting tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
