Our process
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to receive payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

From your responses to these questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars made today come with tinted glass that is almost at (or close to) the 70-75% maximum. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something else to consider is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows over the allowed limit.
We always test with a tint meter to make sure your car’s windows are legal when fitting tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not all window tints meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint available, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
