- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which car windows can we tint?
We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows that are almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to think about is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
