How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to receive payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables from sight?
Based on your responses to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars made today come with tinted glass that is almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, another factor to consider is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint front windows past the allowed limit.
We use a tint meter to ensure your car’s windows are allowable when fitting a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
