Vision Tints mobile car window tinting in Cullompton provides an all in one car window tinting service. Tinting your car windows yourself, is often a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right brand, shade, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied at a local garage can be a hassle as well, needing to take the time off work, or be without your car for several hours waiting for it to be finished, is often not possible.
At Vision Tints we’re 100% mobile, and we can cover all of the county of Devon and a little of the county of Cornwall including Cullompton and surrounding areas. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.
We are able to offer tinted sun strips, headlight tints and de-chroming.
How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
Using your responses to those questions our fully trained professionals can help you to select the right shade. These are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is already at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, something else to consider is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows beyond the legal limit.
We test with a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are correct when fitting any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
