How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass that is almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to think about is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows past the legal limit.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
