How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables from view?
From your responses to those questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today come with tinted glass that is almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows beyond the legal limit.
We always test with a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are correct when applying tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
