Our process
- You book a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We can then accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
Based on your answers to these questions our trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, something else to think about is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows over the allowed limit.
We always use a tint meter to make sure you are correct when applying any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tints was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
