Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables from view?
Based on your responses to these questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles made today have tinted windows that are already at (or close to) the 70-75% limit. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something else to consider is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows over the allowed limit.
We will use a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are allowable when installing tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tints was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.

Yes! We are fully mobile and offer mobile window tinting in Staddiscombe and the whole of Devon and some of Cornwall.
