How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to receive payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables out of view?
From your responses to those questions our trained specialists can help you to pick the correct shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and gives complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are often asked about this. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles produced today come with tinted glass that is already at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to consider is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows over the legal limit.
We use a tint meter to ensure everything is legal when fitting any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not all window tints meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
