How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We can then receive payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?
Based on your responses to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles produced today come with tinted glass that is almost at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows past the legal limit.
We test with a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are legal when installing tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signals and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
