Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables from view?
Based on your answers to these questions our fully trained specialists can help you to select the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars produced today have tinted windows that are almost at (or close to) the 70-75% maximum. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows over the allowed limit.
We always use a tint meter to make sure you are allowable when applying a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not all window tints meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint available, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
