How it works
- You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to these questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars made today have tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, another factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows beyond the legal limit.
We always use a tint meter to ensure you are allowable when installing any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not all window tints was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
