Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables from view?
Based on your answers to the questions our trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass that is almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% limit. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows over the allowed limit.
We always test with a tint meter to ensure you are correct when fitting a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not all window tints meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
