Our process
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables from sight?
Using your responses to the questions our trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today have tinted glass that is already at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint your front windows beyond the legal limit.
We use a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are legal when applying any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tints meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
