How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars produced today come with tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows past the legal limit.
We will test with a tint meter to confirm everything is correct when fitting any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
