Our process
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables out of sight?
From your responses to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles produced today have tinted glass that is already at (or close to) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows over the allowed limit.
We test with a tint meter to confirm you are correct when fitting tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tints was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
