How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
From your responses to those questions our trained professionals are able to help you to pick the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles made today have tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% limit. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, another factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows over the legal limit.
We always test with a tint meter to confirm you are correct when applying any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
