What we do
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?

Based on your answers to those questions our trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows beyond the allowed limit.
We test with a tint meter to confirm you are allowable when installing tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tints meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signal and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
