How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to receive payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables from sight?
Using your answers to those questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles produced today have tinted windows that are almost at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to consider is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows beyond the legal limit.
We always test with a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are correct when fitting any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not all window tints was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
