Tinting your car windows on your own, is often a real pain, selecting the best brand, shade, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your car to be tinted locally can often be a real burden as well, having to take the time off work, or losing your car for several hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often a big inconvenience.
At Vision Tints we’re 100% mobile, and we cover the whole of Devon and parts of Cornwall including Caton and nearby towns. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.
We also offer tinted sun strips, light tints and chome deleting.
Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables from view?
Based on your answers to the questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today have tinted glass that is almost at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows over the allowed limit.
We test with a tint meter to ensure you are allowable when installing tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not all window tints was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
Do you offer mobile window tinting near me?
Yes! We are fully mobile and offer mobile window tinting in Caton and all of Devon and some of Cornwall.
We are able to visit your home or your place of employment, meaning that you don’t have to loose your car and do not have to wait around for hours for the job to be done.
