Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint your front windows past the legal limit.
We will test with a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are legal when installing any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.

Yes! We are totally mobile and offer mobile window tinting in Brixton and all of Devon and Northern Cornwall.
We are able to visit where you live or your place of employment, meaning that you don’t have to be without your car and do not have to wait around for hours for the job to be done.
