How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables from sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows that are already at (or close to) the 70-75% limit. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows over the allowed limit.
We use a tint meter to confirm everything is legal when fitting tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tints was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
