Vision Tints mobile car window tinting in St Ive provides an all in one car tinting service. Tinting your car windows by yourself, is often a real pain, choosing the right shade, brand, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to have the tint applied at a local garage can often be a real burden as well, needing to take the time off work, or be without your vehicle for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often not possible.
At Vision Tints we are completely mobile, and we cover the whole of the county of Devon and some of the county of Cornwall including St Ive and nearby towns. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.
We are able to offer tinted sun strips, light tints and de-chroming.
How it works
- You book a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to receive payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
From your answers to these questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to pick the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars made today have tinted windows that are almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% limit. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows past the legal limit.
We test with a tint meter to ensure everything is correct when fitting a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tints meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
Do you offer mobile window tinting near me?
