How it works
- You book a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it keep valuables out of sight?
Based on your answers to these questions our qualified professionals can help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows beyond the legal limit.
We use a tint meter to make sure your car’s windows are allowable when fitting tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
