How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars made today come with tinted glass that is almost at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. So we will not tint any front windows over the legal limit.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
