How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles made today have tinted glass that is almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
