What we do
- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We can then receive payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables from view?
Based on your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% limit. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, another factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows over the allowed limit.
We use a tint meter to confirm you are allowable when applying tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
