How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to receive payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars made today come with tinted glass that is already at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, another factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint front windows past the legal limit.
We will use a tint meter to ensure you are legal when installing any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio signals and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
