What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to these questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, something else to consider is your car insurance. By unlawfully tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows beyond the allowed limit.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tints was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signals and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
