Tinting car windows yourself, is often a real hassle, selecting the right shade, brand, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied locally can be a real burden too, needing to take some time off work, or having no vehicle for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.
We can also provide tinted sun strips, car light tints and de-chroming.
What we do
- You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it keep valuables from view?
Based on your answers to the questions our trained professionals can help you to choose the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is almost at (or close to) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, something else to consider is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows beyond the legal limit.
We always use a tint meter to ensure you are allowable when fitting any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signals and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
