Our process
- You book a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

Based on your answers to these questions our trained specialists can help you to select the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles produced today have tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, another factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows beyond the allowed limit.
We test with a tint meter to confirm you are allowable when installing a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
