So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. How it works
- You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to receive payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of view?
Using your answers to these questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows past the legal limit.
We will test with a tint meter to ensure everything is correct when installing a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tints was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
