Our process
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to receive payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables from sight?
Using your answers to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars made today come with tinted windows that are almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows beyond the legal limit.
We always use a tint meter to ensure your car’s windows are legal when fitting a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tints was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint available, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
Do you provide mobile window tinting near me?
