Our process
- You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to receive payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?
Based on your responses to those questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the right shade. Here are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is almost at (or nearly) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, another factor to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
