Our process
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is already at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, something else to consider is the insurance on your car. By unlawfully tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows beyond the allowed limit.
We always test with a tint meter to make sure everything is legal when applying any tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The greatest tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signals and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
