What we do
- You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to receive payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it keep valuables from view?
Using your answers to these questions our trained specialists can help you to select the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars produced today have tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows past the legal limit.
We use a tint meter to ensure you are allowable when installing tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tints was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
