Tinting your car windows on your own, is often a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right brand, shade, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to be tinted locally can often be a real burden as well, needing to take the time off work, or losing your car for many hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.
We can also offer tinted sun strips, headlight tints and de-chroming.
What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables from sight?
From your responses to those questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes it possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows that are already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something else to think about is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows over the allowed limit.
We test with a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are correct when fitting a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tints do you use?
Not all window tints meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
