What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our trained specialists can help you to select the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass that is already at (or nearly) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, something else to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. So we will not tint your front windows past the legal limit.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
