How it works
- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?

Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows that are already at (or close to) the 70-75% allowance. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
In addition, something else to think about is your car insurance. By illegally tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to an illegally install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. We will test with a tint meter to ensure you are allowable when applying a tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Vision Tints, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.
