How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables from view?
Based on your answers to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passenger’s window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles produced today have tinted glass that is already at (or close to) the 70-75% maximum. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
In addition, something else to consider is the insurance on your car. By illegally tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to an illegally install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Vision Tints is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows over the legal limit.
We will use a tint meter to confirm your car’s windows are correct when installing tint on front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Vision Tints, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
